Let’s face it, we’re the 99% too and honestly don’t have a lot to spend on music and merch from other bands that we like. So we thought, hey…if people like our stuff, we should make it available AND affordable. So now you can name your price for our songs and get t-shirts for $10 (plus really cheap shipping anywhere in the world)! Our t-shirts are a limited edition designed by Low Spin bass player, Jessie Robertson, and come in fitted v-neck and loose fitting crew. We’re also a big fan of shirt modifications…if you have one of our shirts that you’ve made your own, we’d love to see it!

Your support makes our dark hearts beat with gratitude. Really, thank-you.
2011 was a whirlwind of firsts for us. From the opportunity of making studio magic with our album’s baby daddy, Howard Redekopp, we created our first offspring together and introduced our little EP to the world in April. Within this whimsical time we worked with Tegan Quin on an unreleased Tegan and Sara tune, Give Chase, for a special treat on the album, had the fun and fantastic Lindsey Byrnes work her photo-genius-love on us, played around western Canada with amazing bands, including mini tours with explosively charming, The Joy Formidable, and made a lot of new friends along the way.
This Thursday we have declared as our last show of the year because we are taking the next couple of months to get down to business! As we play the roles of managers, booking agents, promoters, publishers, graphic artists, producers, mixers, and musicians in Low Spin, we are also working on growing extra limbs and heads. As our experiments continue, we will keep you up to date and get back on the stage when the dawn of 2012 arises.
If you have had part of this exciting year with us, we thank you! For our home crowd in Vancouver, come join us for our 2011 wrap up party. We have merch that will be dirt cheap and bumping and grinding for free.
See you soon ♥

Well, our joy spin with ever-so-talented, The Joy Formidable, was probably the best set of shows to date. Re-visiting Calgary at the legendary Republik brought back some drunken 18 year old memories for former Calgarian members, Jen and Jessie, and after we played our set the audience was chanting for an encore! Sorry we couldn’t give you more; we were the opening band! Sure was nice of you to ask though. Next up in the night, The Joy Formidable played a set to make your hair whip back and forth and were even lovelier than we remembered. Ritzy, Rhydian, Matt and their sound guy Neak are such a pleasure to be around.
Our guitar player, Mark, took this pic in Calgary:
We also have some pics of our set at The Rickshaw Theatre with TJF in Vancouver taken by our friend, Britta Becker. You can see the full album here.
For upcoming shows in the next while we just announced a couple of dates, local and interior BC. Check out our Shows page to catch the next one.
Until next time ♥
On Wednesday we were interviewed by the very lovely Ashly Kissman for her radio show, What Pink Sounds Like, at Vancouver’s CiTR 101.9. Ashly is doing really great things with her blog and radio show to promote women in all facets of media. The interview will be aired on Tuesday, Sept 6 at 1pm but you can also hear it on her podcast after it’s been aired.
We’re also gearing up to head to Alberta tomorrow to play the good old Canmore Hotel with energetic circus rockers, Go For The Eyes, Sunday night (Sept 4) and in Calgary at The Republik with Welsh grunge-pop rockers, The Joy Formidable on Monday (Sept 5). 2 days after that we head right back home for one more show with The Joy Formidable at the famous Rickshaw Theatre on Wednesday (Sept 7). So much excitement in so little time! We’ll fill you in on all the dirt when we get back…stay tuned.
Exactly one year ago we opened for a little band from Wales called The Joy Formidable. They had not released their debut EP in Canada yet and played the modest Media Club as their first go in Vancouver. Since then they have been touring like mad, playing all sorts of festivals including the most recent Lollapalooza and even joining American heroes, the Foo Fighters, on a few dates. Now, they are coming back to Canada and we are very happy to announce that we will be sharing the stage with them once again. If you haven’t checked out their recently released LP, The Big Roar, do yourself a favor…this album is a masterpiece and almost captures the intensity of their live show (nothing beats the real thing). We’ll be joining them for their western Canada dates in Calgary and Vancouver on Sept 5 and 7th, and this time we also have a new album and some brand new songs to share with you. If you can make it, these shows will be well worth your time!
We had an amazing night with some new and old friends at Venue last week. Linking up with Secret Broadcast again after all these years, and the fun and fabulous locals, TV Heart Attack, made a seriously fun night. The gals from Vancouver Music Review came out as well and did a little write up on the show here. Thanks to all who made this show an unforgettable night!
Quite possibly the hottest show this summer…and we’re not talking about the weather.
Low Spin, TV Heart Attack, Secret Broadcast…oh my….
